National Night Out returns to Rio Linda/Elverta on August 6.
National Night Out, the annual collection of community gatherings hosted by law enforcement agencies, is returning to towns across Sacramento County on Aug. 6.
This 41st annual community-building campaign traditionally starts on the first Tuesday of August across thousands of communities across the U.S. and Canada.
According to event organizers, with activities like parades, festivals, and block parties, local agencies participating in National Night Out can seek and promote safer communities and build ties between law enforcement and the people they serve.
“National Night Out enhances the relationship between neighbors and law enforcement while bringing back a true sense of community,” the National Association of Town Watch, which created the event in 1984, said in a statement.
This year, the Twin Rivers Police Department and the Rio Linda/Elverta Neighborhood Association will host the Rio Linda/Elverta NNO gathering at the Rio Linda High School aquatic center from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 6th.
Tummy’s, Chik-Fil-A, Kona Ice, RLE Recreation and Parks District, Rio Linda Lions Club, Future Farmers of America, Girl Scouts, and Rio Linda Online will also participate.
As always, at the entrance to the pool, all foods and frozen treats will be 100% FREE.
