A two-vehicle collision occurred on Base Line Road on Monday in Elverta, west of Roseville in Sacramento County.

The incident took place in front of 8800 Base Line Road at approximately 12:54 p.m., as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

CHP officials stated that the crash involved a red Nissan Rogue SUV and a white SUV, with one of the vehicles overturning. Debris was scattered across the roadway.

Paramedics from Cal Fire Placer County responded to the scene, and a helicopter landed nearby to assist at least one person with major injuries. Authorities confirmed that one person died, although it is unknown if others sustained injuries in the crash.

Investigators are currently working to determine fault in the collision.
