Rite Aid to Close Additional Sacramento Area Stores

Rite Aid to Close Additional Sacramento Area Stores

Rite Aid Corp. has announced the closure of two additional stores in the Sacramento region. The closures are part of a series of nationwide store shutdowns following the company’s Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing in October.

The Placerville store at 31 Fair Lane is set to close on January 8, while the Auburn store at 420 Grass Valley Highway will cease operations on January 15.

According to the Sacramento Business Journal, Rite Aid spokesperson Catherine Carter stated that the closures are part of efforts to streamline operations and improve financial stability. This decision follows the closure of several other stores in the Sacramento region and elsewhere as part of Rite Aid’s restructuring plan.

This month, Rite Aid closed Truckee, South Lake Tahoe, and Sacramento’s South Land Park stores. Additionally, amid its bankruptcy, the company has shut down locations in Arden-Arcade, Citrus Heights, Galt, Roseville, and Davis. Last year, Rite Aid also ceased operations at six stores in the Sacramento area, including Downtown, Midtown, Cameron Park, Roseville, and two in East Sacramento, as part of its strategy to cut costs and boost profitability.
