MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD!
Friends,
Tomorrow (today), on Tuesday July 12th, the Sacramento County Board of Supervisors will be voting on whether or not to place an initiative on the November ballot to tax cannabis.
If that initiative makes it onto the ballot in November and passes by over 50%, it would give the greenlight to the Board of Supervisors to then move forward with eventually voting to approve cannabis dispensaries throughout unincorporated Sacramento County that could be taxed. The proceeds of the tax would go to the County General Fund to be spent however the Board of Supervisors see fit.
If you would like to make your voice heard about whether or not you want this placed on the ballot, you have three options.
- Send an e-mail to the Board of Supervisors. Click here to do so.
- Call the Board of Supervisors live by calling (916) 875-2500, and specify you want to talk on item #63. The item is slated to be heard at 2:45pm, but it will very likely be later than that. I suggest you watch the meeting live on YouTube to determine when you should call in.
- Attend the meeting and speak in person. The meeting is at 700 H Street, Suite 1450. To be sure you will be in attendance when the item is heard, arrive at 2:45pm.
Sincerely,
Sue Frost
Sacramento County Supervisor, District 4
